Popular North East Dance Music Radio Station set to Expand to Teesside at Test Station - Primary station for development

Frisk Radio have been entertaining the North East with their lively mix of beats and banter for the past 2 years, and are soon to launch on 2 new DAB digital radio transmitters, constructed to serve Middlesbrough and Redcar.

As the big network stations have closed their local studios and all-but abandoned the region, Frisk are poised to fill that gap.

A galaxy of DJ superstars

The music policy on Frisk is 100% “loud and lively” - with an upbeat mix of current pop & dance music, interwoven with well-known club classics during the day.

Weekends on Frisk play host to a festival style line-up of big room DJs, including the likes of Judge Jules, Roger Sanchez, Oliver Heldens, Martin Garrix and Tiesto.

Tapping into Teesside

Commenting on the expansion, Frisk Radio’s director, Stuart Landreth said:

“Having grew up with legendary night clubs like Tall Trees, Liquid and Millennium, we know that there are a generation of clubbers across Teesside who are passionate about their dance music – and we’re here to cater to that in an untapped radio market.”

Frisk Radio has already enjoyed commercial success in Newcastle and across Tyneside, attracting a monthly audience of 22,500 listeners with a love of the turn-of-the-millennium clubbing scene.

Listeners can catch a VIP preview of the station on its smartphone app, on Freeview Channel 277 and Sky Q.
